Frequently Asked Questions

Do you give floral package pricing?

Nope! Each and every wedding is completely unique from the colour palette, wedding party size and florals/ greenery used – So each wedding is priced individually according to what you want and need for your big day! We work together with you and your budget to make sure your day is beautiful and budget friendly.

How would you describe your floral design style?

Have you seen Tarzan? You know when he realizes he’s in love with Jane and he’s swinging through the trees grabbing wild flowers with his toes? Tarzan gives Jane this beautiful, organic, wild bouquet that comes straight from the heart – That’s our style; full, bold, wild and free bouquets. If you’re looking for the perfectly round “Pretty Posie” bouquet style, sorry, you won’t get that here.

How soon do I need to book a floral consult?

First, we ask that you complete our Consultation Form to make sure your wedding date is available. Upon completion, we will contact you to book a consult if we are available for your date. Generally, we recommend you submit the consultation form as soon as possible to ensure the date is available. We will book your floral consult approximately six months prior to your wedding date.

How does the flower planning process work?

Glad you asked! Planning your wedding flowers could be one of the best things about planning a wedding – but we may be bias. First we will get together for a free floral consult to talk about your wedding flower dreams. This floral consult can be in person or over video chat. After the consult, a custom floral palette will be curated based on the things we talked about. The floral palette includes: colour swatches of general palette tones, flowers and greenery suggestions and inspiration photos for the overall wedding vibe & theme. This Floral Palette can be revised and tweaked as the couple desires. Once the Floral Palette is perfect, we provide a detailed quote for all the floral items requested by the couple. Upon quote approval, signed floral contract and non-refundable deposit your wedding flowers will be ordered from the farms and the count down to the big day will start!

What happens if I postpone my wedding?

Two things: First, we acknowledge that is a hard decision and we understand it took courage and strength to make that choice. We are committed to working with you through the changes as best we can. Second; if the floral quote has been accepted, contract signed and non-refundable deposit received, the deposit can be transferred to the new wedding date assuming the new date is still available. If the new date is available, the quote will be subject to minor changes such as product availability and cost changes (those details would be fully disclosed with the couple as each situation is different). If the new date is not available, we wish you all the best on your wedding adventure.

What if I don’t know what style I want or like?

Don’t worry - You’re not alone and that’s what I’m here for! You and I will get together and talk about your wish list and inspiration. Based on our conversation, I will develop a design palette for your flowers and we can fine tune the details together.

What is a realistic flower budget?

As our great friends over at WedShed explained in an excellent Instagram Post: “This is one we've received many times over the years. Because the truth is sometimes the expense of floral quotes comes as a surprise. Let's start with WHY we find it hard to swallow the *seemingly high expense of florals: Because, they die… However, when you book a wedding florist, you're not just paying for the raw product (which, we should add, costs money to grow from a seed to a bloom, harvest, transport and sell). You're also paying for stuff like this:

  • Pre-dawn wake-ups almost every day to hit the flower markets and long working hours

  • Relationships built with growers

  • Cool rooms to keep the flowers and foliage looking fresh

  • Flower husbandry and babysitting (pruning, hydrating, petal prep etc.)

  • Actual flower arranging (a LOT of time. More than you'd imagine)

  • Appropriate transport for flower safety

  • Delivery time and travel (often multiple drops for bouquets, boutonnières, venue)

  • Floral installations such as arches, pillars, hanging pieces, etc.

  • Staff, premises and general running-of-a-business costs

  • Time spent liaising with couples and honing a vision for their wedding

  • YEARS of time spent mastering a craft - the actual artistry

  • A little bit of actual margin (trust us, florists, like most of the wedding industry aren't rolling around in Teslas. They do this job because they LOVE it)

Once you have context of what goes on behind the scenes, it makes a lot more sense, right?

The way that we try to look at wedding flowers is to avoid thinking about the longevity of the blooms. We need to remember that your florals are often part of your decoration budget too! Flowers bring SO much into your day in terms of vibe and beauty. Also, your photographer will capture them flawlessly - they'll be immortalized in photos and blow your guests away.

As with everything to do with your wedding though, our BIGGEST piece of advice is to invest in the things that matter to you. If this is florals, then hopefully this is insightful. And if it's not, that is fine! Every couple has different areas they splurge in.
