OnSite Accounting Office Interior Design & Renovation Project
Who said an accounting office had to be boring? NOT ME - When Korene told me about her new office location I was absolutely thrilled for her and her accounting team. Previously located in an old, dreary strip mall, a small, inner unit with no windows and jammed full of florescent’s, I knew this was a dream come true for the OnSite Accounting team! The new office location would be big, beautiful corner unit on a main street in Regina, Saskatchewan on the third floor. Literally two walls full of windows and a great view of the city.
“I want this office to feel like an extension of my home,” Korene told me when we got together to discuss the new office design, “Accounting already has a bad reputation of being dry and boring - I want our office to be pretty and fun and happy to be in! Especially in the spring when all of us practically live in the office for year end.”
Her wish was my command.
I began the design process with several site visits to photograph, measure, sketch, and documenting the current space. The previous tenant had been a dental clinic - there would be a lot of demolition work required by the landlord in order for us to move forward and develop the space into the Accounting Office of Korene’s dreams ♥ There were a few obstacles to consider and work around including the two walls full of windows - how would we make private, individual offices for her team of five? There was an existing kitchenette and bathroom that were pretty pathetic and uncomfortable, as well as several load supporting tele-posts throughout the corner space.
The Wish List:
Large Corner Office for Korene because… duh…
Three medium sized work spaces for her team + reception desk area
Large board room for client and team meetings
Comfortable lounge area in the front for clients to wait
New full staff kitchen to allow for lunch breaks instead of eating at their desks
Updated bathroom because…. the existing one was ewwww
